Leadership, Elders, Guests, Youth!The Manitoba First Nation’s Youth Council & Youth Secretariat Staff welcome all of you to the Youth Secretariat Website. We appreciate everyone for being involved with our initiatives! Our department would not be possible without the assistance of the leadership, volunteers and organizers for all their hard work, participation and determination on First Nations issues. We encourage everyone to network with other organizations and youth to gain more knowledge that will benefit yourself and your community.
The youth secretariat has been very busy in the last year with the following youth initiatives: CEPS T4T Leadership Program, the Regional Youth Gathering, Youth Suicide Prevention and Summer Employment. At the present time we have just hired four individuals working in youth internship positions with the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs. These individuals will be training and receiving mentorship within the organization. We are also very happy to welcome Gord Petruic as our new Youth and Wellness Coordinator. This coming new year in February 2010, the Regional Youth Gathering will be held in Brokenhead First Nation. Please watch for new information and application forms to be posted on our website shortly.
