Aniin, my name is Melissa Chippeway, my spirit name is White Star Woman. I'm ojibwe from the Lake Manitoba First Nation where I currently reside. At the moment I'm on summer break and am doing alot of volunteering so that it is more flexable for me to take part in ceremonies & powwows. In the fall I'm planning on going to the University of Winnipeg for Aboriginal Governance. I wanted to be apart of the MFNYC because as we all area we come together for the same reason, which is to help make a better change.

My English name is Angela; My traditional name is Rainbow Woman. Two tribes I originate from are the Nakoda and the Ojibwe. Peguis First Nation is my reservation. it is located in Manitoba, Canada. At the present time, I am working as an Youth Support Worker at Macdonald Youth Services. I am family oriented, and I love traveling and dancing at pow wows. My passion is working with people and helping others. I teamed up with Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs Youth Council because I have something to offer and contribute to our leaders in tomorrow.

Marley Malcolm - First Nation Member of Ebb and Flow

Hello, my name is Marley Malcolm my spirit name is White Rainbow Woman, I’m 24 years old. I am an Ojibwe woman from the Ebb and Flow First Nation where I am employed as the Youth Coordinator. I’ve had the opportunity to work in my community and along with the Manitoba First Nations Youth Council. I’ve also taken several different trainings and workshops that have helped me learn many valuable skills. I am truly honored to represent the Youth in Manitoba as there is so many talented Youth some of which I had the privilege of meeting. I also enjoy talking with Youth and getting their different opinions on situations or with resolutions and also to find out what they would like to see changes in. I’ve teamed up with the Manitoba First Nations Youth Council to contribute the skills that I have to offer to the leaders of the future.

Erin Egachie - First Nation Member of Roseau River

Erin Egachie is from the Anishinaabe Nation of Roseau River. She has been involved with the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs since 2005 through volunteering and seasonal employment. She has worked through numerous departments within AMC where she has obtained diverse skills that has led her into a great career as a young person. She is looking forward to attending the University of Winnipeg for post secondary studies in Political Law and then plans to enter into Law school at the University of Manitoba. Currently Erin works with young people on the Manitoba First Nations Youth Council where they tackle the issues that our youth face today in society. More importantly their challenges in their home communities. As a proud young Anishinaabe woman she takes part actively in ceremonies,powwows and many cultural events. The youth are her passion and she anticipates working with other young people as a collective proud youth voice of Manitoba to create positive change.

Michelle Klippenstein - First Nation Member of Poplar River

Aniin! My name is Michelle Klippenstein and my traditional name is Blue Sky Woman.  I am from Poplar River First Nation but currently living in Winnipeg.  I have graduated from the University of Mantioba with a Bachelor of Arts degree, major in Native Studies.  One day I hope to return to university to further my education, until then I am working with youth in the North End of Winnipeg.  My passion is working with youth and I am very honored to be a part of the Manitoba First Nations Youth Council (MFNYC).  I hope to contribute what I have to offer for Manitoba's First Nations youth as a positive representative in the council. I am very open to hearing all the youth's voices and want to be a part of a very bright future for Mantioba's First Nations youth. Meegwetch!

My name is Jessica Pierre my spirit name is Red Tailed Hawk, I am 24 years old originally from Roseau River Anishinaabe First Nation but reside in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In the past year I graduated and received my Grade 12 diploma from Yellowquill College. Now that I completed that milestone in my life I am moving onto starting my career and go to University of Winnipeg in the fall and take the Human Resource Management course . I joined the youth council to come up with ways to promote healthy lifestyles and organize recreation for youth in my community. I have worked in the AMC Youth Secretariat in the past when I was a teen as a summer student. I learned many valuable skills, I was also able to be apart of many events and programs when working there, it was a great experience. I am happy to have this opportunity to represent youth in Manitoba as of nowMy message to youth is that there are a lot possibilities in achieving your own potential goals and moving forward and it will take you places that you want to go in the future.
